Council Term: 2014-2016
Growing up without a father, and after his mother’s death from cancer at age 13, Diego was placed in foster care. He experienced three different group homes, where he witnessed constant gang involvement and dope dealing. Diego struggled with educational stability, but was able to graduate high school at the age of sixteen. Diego is now in his sophomore year at University of Colorado Denver, plans to go to medical school and become a pharmacist. He dreams of being able to provide medication/vaccinations at a little or no cost for low income individuals. Diego is a college student, martial arts athlete, hiker… and a foster kid.
